The following lists provide details for the new features by page for v2016 Tax Provision and Workpapers. There is also a section for the new ONESOURCE Platform.

 

ONESOURCE Platform

Access the new ONESOURCE platform home page which includes My Applications tiles (orange) and Your Recent Work tiles (white).

oOpen the home page for ONESOURCE Tax Provision using an orange My Applications tile.

oOpen the last visited page in an application using a white Your Recent Work tile. For ONESOURCE Tax Provision, this only applies to the My Datasets and Review and Edit pages.

oOpen ONESOURCE Tax Provision using the platform menu. Here you can access both v2016 and v2014 instances.

Access the software using multi-browsers and multi-devices. See System Requirements.

Navigate laterally through the ONESOURCE platform and applications using a common navigation bar that includes ONESOURCE platform icons and menu.

View color schemes, grid controls, and other software look & feel aspects for the new ONESOURCE experience.

 

Dataset Administration and Actions

Add datasets to the review list in My Datasets creating a concise navigation list for Review & Edit.

Provide all dataset types, such as Interim and Reporting datasets, as part of your review list.

Perform dataset administration tasks at the dataset level using the Calc and More drop-down lists. For example, JE Profiles, Flow-Through Profiles, Recalc Flow-Through, Dataset Parameters and State Inclusions.

Import and export data to a dataset (both spreadsheet and bridge) using icons in My Datasets grid.

Perform unit administration tasks for all units including activating and deactivating units using unit Actions in the Manage Units grid.

Export All Units within a dataset from the My Datasets page.

Review state details for a unit using the Jurisdictions link in the Manage Units grid. Here you can access all state features and actions in a central location.

 

Review and Edit Screens

Review Summary

Review & Edit summary values for Effective Tax Rate (%), Total Tax Provision / (Benefit), Deferred Tax Asset / (Liability), (Payable) / Receivable by unit or sub-consolidation.

Compare data in the Review Summary and Leadsheet pages.

Compare Provision to Interim datasets in the Review Summary and Leadsheet pages.

Filter data and variances using grid controls in the Review Summary page.

Review values to show variances by unit or sub-consolidation as a percentage or dollar amount.

Find the level of detail you require from units, sub-consolidations, and consolidated levels.

Access data at a lower level from the Review Summary page for the Leadsheets page. Then, from the Leadsheets page, you can access the Data Entry pages.

View, Filter, and Sort orange highlighted cells in the first column of the grid indicating data needs to be refreshed in the Review & Edit pages.

 

Leadsheets

Provide a summary level report view for Tax Expense, Ending Deferred Balance, and Ending Payable Balance.

Provide all dataset types, such as Interim and Reporting Datasets, as part of your review list.

Choose various units or sub-consolidation groups using the new horizontal navigation.

Review both Local and Reporting currency. Using Local currency, you can access data at a lower level.

Maintain variances when comparing datasets and accessing lower level detail from the Review Summary page.

Export pre-defined pivot tables that correspond to the format of the Leadsheet.

Export contains all detail in the Leadsheet providing additional review capabilities. For example, codes, classes/subclasses, and tags.

 

Data Entry Grids

Edit data for multi-unit, dataset, and jurisdictions using the Data Entry grids.

Manage active/inactive by unit and rates for multi-jurisdictions.

View a unit's currency in the new Currency Symbol column with the symbols set up in administration.

Receive notifications for Saved Changes in Data Entry pages.

Export individual pages as import templates. Only the data in the grid exports. For example, if you export from the Permanent Differences page, only the Federal and State Permanent Differences will export.

Use the Actions column to access the datasource, which is SET from a workpaper in ONESOURCE Workpapers.

 

Jobs

Work on tasks while the Dataset and Category imports and exports continue to process. The system notifies you when your request is complete.

Review the import/export log information and the status of your import/export request using the Jobs page.

 

Administration and Reporting

View grid actions, such as sorting, filtering, importing, and exporting that correspond to the grid actions in Data Entry.

Provide well-formatted reports using a new reporting technology replacing Silverlight grids.

Search, sort, and view the Report level list to find locked/unlocked Units, Sub-Consolidations, and Filing Groups.

View an entire report in Reporting using the Maximize button.

Assign a Prior Period Dataset as the default dataset and the selected value is the default value for the comparison dataset in the Unit Comparison Report within Reporting.

Review Legacy reports in the reporting section of the application.

User Permissions

Add user permissions within User Roles.

Assign datasets to users in User Roles. Note that User Groups was renamed to User Roles
